Do you have a bird that meets that description? Over the winter I managed to attract a pair of bluebirds, purely by coincidence, but that was just fine with me! I found a recipe for homemade suet, cooked it up, hung it in the feeder with joy and waited for my new blue friends to arrive. Alas, instead of seeing the lovely bluebird pair at regular intervals I saw a mockingbird perched outside enjoying the suet. This was also fine with me since I'm a Florida girl originally so mockingbirds are dear to me.

However, this one quickly outstayed his welcome by hogging the feeder and chasing everyone else who came near away! I was aghast! I didn't know what to do. For several days I fretted over it before finally calling in the big guns (MOM) and asking what to do when your meek and mild birds get chased away by an overbearing mockingbird.
Mom and another bird feeding friend calmed me down, explaining that the other birds were still coming, just more stealthily than before. Also, it was explained to me that a pecking order exists and is adhered to by the birds. When a top bird shows up, everyone else bails until he is satisfied!

Sure enough, the mockingbirds still come regularly, but so do the bluebirds and everyone else. Rarely are they ever there at the same time. It is an interesting arrangement, but if they're happy, then they pose for pictures and I'm happy!
